We’re continuing the movement
Beginning in 2016, NAMI of Kent County brought NAMI Walks to West Michigan. We are the second NAMI affiliate in the State of Michigan to host a walk, and we’ve gotten a great response. We’re continuing that tradition in 2019 on Saturday October 12th. As always, we’re partnering with Davenport University to host the walk. They’ve been a continuing support and we’re happy to keep that going.

Every single year we’ve hosted the walk, we’ve gotten a great turnout, and this translates directly to more funding for programs we need right here in Kent County, from all the classes and education we offer at our affiliate all the way to helping make CIT training happen with police to help deescalate tough situations and save lives.
Fully half of the funding raised stays in our county, and the rest supports both the State and the National movements to make the world better both for people with mental illness and those who love them.
At the NAMIWalks website you can either join a team or start your own as captain. Help us continue to change the world, both for the nation and for Kent County in particular!
On October 12th, 2019, we’ll be meeting at Davenport University.
The walk starts at 10AM and check in begins at 8AM.
