For those of us lucky enough to live in Kent County, there are a myriad of resources to access when we or our loved ones suffer from mental illness. Below is a very incomplete list, but we’re always seeking to grow the list so if you know of something we should add let us know and we’ll see about adding it to the page.
Community Mental Health Access Center
Network180 is the place to start accessing services for those living in Kent County with medicaid, medicare or no insurance. Their access center address is 790 Fuller Avenue NE
Grand Rapids, MI 49503. They are open 24/7 for people in crisis and help connect people with the services they need, such as case management, or therapy, or hospitalizations or whatever they need.

This number is for hospital admissions. If you have medicare or medicaid, or no insurance, you will need to talk to Network 180 first to be admitted. Pine Rest has other services and different phone numbers for those.

This is a place for people who meet the requirements of hospitalization, but may not need the full scope of care provided in hospitals. The doors do not lock people in, and there are other general freedoms afforded there. It is called a “hospital diversion program” and helps to provide an appropriate level of care. Pivot is also frequently used as a step down from hospitalization before the patient returns to their home.
